GET A HOME STUDY:

All prospective adoptive couples must undergo a home study before being eligible to adopt. A home study is an extensive investigation of your ability to parent a child. Heartfelt Adoptions is licensed to perform home studies for families residing in the State of Florida. This report will include;

• Home inspections
• Background checks
• Relationships and social life
• Financial position
• Parenting experience

Our goal is to make the home study a valuable learning experience and to help prepare you for the challenges of parenting a child.

MAKE YOUR ADOPTIVE PARENT PROFILE:

We highly recommend that you make a parent profile. It is an important determining factor in your selection. The purpose of the profile is not only to share information but to paint a picture of what life would be like for the child in your family. It will give the birth mother a chance to learn about you and be comfortable in placing her child into your family.

WAIT FOR THE CALL:

This is the hardest of all steps in an adoption. Patience is the key to success in this stage. It is important to keep your mind occupied and carry on with daily activities. We encourage the adoptive parents to utilize this time in preparation for the child’s arrival and to keep a positive mindset.
